The peony design seen in this porcelain bottle exhibits the traditional inlaying technique by which flowers are in white, boldly large whereas the stalks and leaves are expressed in fine black lines. The inlaying technique was introduced in the art of porcelain for the first time by Korean potters in Goryeo Dynasty (918-1392) and it was an increasingly-important achievement in the world's ceramics history.
