This celadon green porcelain duck water dropper is inspired from a duck with a lotus spray in her mouth. The spout from which water is dropped onto an inkstone is at the cut end of the lotus stalk while the hole from which it is filled with water is at the back decorated with lotus buds and leaves. The attractive curve of the breast and the delightful soaring line from the tail to the bill help create a form that is both dynamic and static.
