A fine reproduction of the 15th century work listed as Treasure 767, this pottery fish jar exhibits nearly the entire range of design techniques used for buncheong ware, including inlaying, impression, sgraffito, incision, gwiyal brushing and iron underglazing. The wanja (Buddhist swastiaka) design around the neck and the lotus band above the foot are inlaid whereas the body of the fish is decorated with impressed design and its head and fins with sgraffito and incision designs. The details of the motifs, including lotus and arabesque patterns, are painted with oxidized iron. Read More
